History
In for the long haul
The Shepparton Search and Rescue Squad (SS&RS) has been a pillar of the community since its inception in 1971. Over the past four decades, the squad has made significant strides in enhancing their rescue capabilities, including the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment such as the HURST "Jaws of Life" and the implementation of advanced communication systems. The establishment of their new facility at Dudley St in 2012 and the continuous upgrade of their rescue vehicles and gear have ensured their readiness for various rescue operations. This progress is a testament to the unwavering support from the Shepparton/Mooroopna community and the strong collaborations with agencies like the Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria, CFA, and VicSES.
The SS&RS's commitment to excellence and community service is evident in their extensive fundraising efforts, which have enabled them to invest over $750,000 in vital rescue equipment. Their dedication, combined with countless volunteer hours, underscores the squad's invaluable contribution to public safety. As they continue to evolve and adapt to new challenges, the SS&RS remains a trusted and respected entity, integral to the safety and well-being of the local community.
